  • Adam Mosseri is the current CEO of Instagram, a social media platform owned by Facebook. Mosseri was born on January 23, 1983, in Chappaqua, New York. He attended New York University where he studied information design and media.


  • Mosseri joined Facebook in 2008 as a product designer, and in 2012 he became the product director for Facebook's News Feed. He played a crucial role in the development of Facebook's News Feed algorithm, which determines what content appears in a user's News Feed.



  • An October 2018, Mosseri was appointed as the head of Instagram following the sudden departure of co-founders Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger.

  •  As the CEO of Instagram, Mosseri is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the company, setting its strategic direction, and ensuring that the platform remains relevant and engaging for its users.



  • Under Mosseri's leadership, Instagram has launched several new features and initiatives, including the removal of likes from posts, the introduction of Reels, a short-form video feature, and the creation of Instagram Shops, an e-commerce platform that allows businesses to sell products directly on the platform.


  • Mosseri has also been vocal about Instagram's commitment to improving mental health and reducing the spread of misinformation on the platform. In 2019, Instagram started hiding likes in several countries, a move aimed at reducing the pressure and anxiety that users feel about their posts' popularity.


  • In addition to his work at Instagram, Mosseri is also a member of the board of directors for The Trevor Project, a non-profit organization focused on suicide prevention for LGBTQ+ youth.
