Shou Zi Chew is the current CEO of TikTok, a popular social media platform known for short-form mobile videos. He took over the position from Kevin Mayer in May 2021.
Shou Zi Chew was born on November 12, 1982, in Malaysia. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science and later earned his Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
Prior to joining TikTok, Shou Zi Chew held several senior executive positions at Xiaomi Corporation, a Chinese electronics company. He joined Xiaomi in 2015 as its Chief Financial Officer and later served as the President of International and a Board Director.

Shou Zi Chew has also worked for other companies, including DST Global, Goldman Sachs, and McKinsey & Company.
In addition to his role as CEO of TikTok, Shou Zi Chew serves as the Chief Executive Officer of ByteDance Ltd., TikTok's parent company.
